District 53 needs a representative that believes in the American principles of governing, leads with passion, and genuinely cares about the community. Amberlee will fight to:

1) Limit civil government to its proper role;

2) Uphold constitutional rights

3) Revitalize the governmental process and lead with passion

4) Community Advocacy

EDUCATION

To enhance educational opportunities I will work to:

1) Ensure fiscal responsibility

2) Increasing flexibility and accountability in education at all levels by empowering parents and local school board’s decision-making in such areas as: testing, curriculum, student discipline, accountability, hiring and performance reviews, and innovative programs;

3) Oppose federal intrusion;

4) Support our teachers;

5) Support our community colleges

JOBS

Tennesseans should be able to enjoy the fruit of their labor without government constraints. I will work to create and protect jobs for District 53 that:

1) Rely on private enterprise and the free market instead of government.

2) Eliminate excessive government regulations, and red tape on small businesses and employers.

3) Limit government’s growth and reliance on debt.

4) Protect entrepreneurs from the damaging effects of frivolous lawsuits

SENIORS

Our seniors helped build the best country in the world. Amberlee' will protect seniors and defend Social Security and Medicaid while we look for solutions to keep them solvent

TAXES

I believe in fiscal responsibility and a common sense, minimalist approach to taxation.

1) Reduce the Hall Tax and expand exemptions for seniors and retirees

2) Maintain the sales tax cuts for grocery and food items

3) Lower the effective rate for franchise and excise taxes

4) Continue phasing-out the state Death Tax

5) Strengthen the state spending cap and reduce government waste

6) CONTINUE TO PERMANENTLY BAN A STATE INCOME TAX
